Eastbrook hasn't had much luck against Elwood recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Eastbrook will look to defend their home field against Elwood at 5:00 p.m. Eastbrook is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Eastbrook didn't have quite enough to beat Frankton and fell 6-5. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Elwood came up short against Oak Hill on Tuesday, falling 14-4. The Panthers have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Addison Stout put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Kelsey Armes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Taylor Hawks was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Elwood's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Eastbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Elwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eastbrook has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Elwood, though, as they've been averaging 11.1 hits. Given Eastbrook's sizable advantage in that area, Elwood will need to find a way to close that gap.
Eastbrook was able to grind out a solid win over Elwood in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 8-3. Does Eastbrook have another victory up their sleeve, or will Elwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
