It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Northwest Halifax ultimately got the result it was hoping for on Friday. They were able to grind out a solid win over Columbia, winning 28-20. Northwest Halifax have a history of success against Columbia, winning their last head-to-head 28-20.
Columbia got a solid performance out of senior Nasseim Basnight, who rushed for 57 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. Senior Peyton Nicholson was in the mix, too, providing Columbia with 2 touchdowns.
The win bumped Northwest Halifax's record up to 1-2. Columbia are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.
Northwest Halifax will have some time to rest before their next match, which is against Weldon in two weeks at 7:00 PM. Columbia will stay at home next week against Granville Central at 7:00 PM.
