Fans got a thrill when Kyle Johnson and Luke Silbernagel connected against Wallowa. The connection was good for 76 yards, the longest such play in 1A Special District 4 (8 Man) this season.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Imbler beat the Cougars 68-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Panthers.
Imbler's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Johnson threw for 241 and 3 touchdowns and Klint Porter had 107 yards receiving. On the ground Joe Griffin contributed 200 yards. Anu Kanoho helped Imbler's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 81 yards.
He was 10-14 with 0 interceptions.
Johnson put up the best numbers through the air as Lee Lowe's team beat Wallowa. Johnson's favorite target this week was Porter, who caught 2 passes for 107 yards.
Imbler's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 1,233 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Griffin has 17 catches for 391 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Cove and Powder Valley. The Leopards enters the game ranked 17th in the state, while the Badgers ranks 10th.
One of 1A Special District 4 (8 Man)'s premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Panthers and Joseph face off next week.
There should be lots of points scored when the Eagles and Imbler face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Joseph comes in having scored 78 this season, while the Panthers have scored 352. Josh Harman's team scored 0 points last week as it lost to Cove.
Shawn Parker's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 527 from 586. The improvement was the result of a 46-0 victory over the Eagles last week.
