The Plateau Valley Cowboys had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Soroco 63-7 on the road. With Plateau Valley ahead 43-2 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Plateau Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Meloni Miller out in front who scored 23 points along with 8 rebounds and 8 steals. Another player making a difference was Emaline Ealey, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Plateau Valley's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Soroco, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plateau Valley will challenge Vail Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Soroco will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sangre de Cristo at 4:00 p.m. on December 15th.
