Last Friday, St. Mary's Academy escaped with a win against the Eagles by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54. The victory was all the more spectacular given St. Mary's Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 255th in Kansas, while the Eagles are ranked 54th in Nebraska).
Isaac Engholm went supernova for St. Mary's Academy, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Nick Whitehead was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Washington can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 60-22 win over Harmon on the road.
