The Van Horn Eagles entered their tilt with the Dell City Cougars with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Everything went Van Horn's way against Dell City on Wednesday as Van Horn made off with a 38-14 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Van Horn also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Van Horn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Georgi Sparks, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Mallory Mendoza, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Van Horn is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Dell City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Van Horn will square off against Balmorhea at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Balmorhea will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Dell City, they will head out on the road to face off against Big Bend at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
