After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blue Mountain, the Tamaqua Blue Raiders were happy to have found some success on Monday. They had just enough and edged Notre Dame out 76-74. The victory was all the more spectacular given Tamaqua's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while Notre Dame is ranked 188th).
Tamaqua's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Mateyak, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Mateyak hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Dillon, who scored 21 points along with three steals.
Tamaqua now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Notre Dame, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.
Tamaqua will be playing at home against North Schuylkill at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Schuylkill is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Notre Dame, they will face off against Tri-Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
