North Rose-Wolcott came into Thursday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Marion Black Knights by a score of 16-13 on Thursday. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 16-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Bella Youells spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and nine unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up nine Ks. She also set a new season-high mark in runs with four.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Peytin Westurn, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Olivia DeBoerdere was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

North Rose-Wolcott was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .395. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

North Rose-Wolcott's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Marion, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.
