The Stall Warriors will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes at 7:30 p.m. Stall comes in on a streak of failing to score more than ten points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, Stall suffered a tough 34-10 loss at the hands of Cane Bay. Stall was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.
Meanwhile, Ashley Ridge pushed their score all the way to 38 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Summerville 42-38. It was the first time this season that Ashley Ridge let down their fans at home.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jayden Acosta, who rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Acosta was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Another player making a difference was Derrick Salley jr, who gained 191 total yards and two touchdowns.
Stall's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 3.2 points per game. As for Ashley Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Stall was taken down by Ashley Ridge 63-12 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Stall, Xavier Proctor-floyd (who threw for 248 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
