Davis is on a two-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Franklin an eight-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Davis Blue Devils will take on the Franklin Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Davis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 16 to 3 on the offensive boards, a fact Davis proved. They enjoyed a cozy 53-35 victory over Elk Grove. That 53-35 margin sets a new team best for Davis this season.
Davis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aidan Crawford out in front who scored 17 points. The matchup was Crawford's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Jadyn Coaker was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Franklin took a serious blow against University Prep on Tuesday, falling 80-49. While losing is never fun, Franklin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1289th, while University Prep is ranked 408th).
Davis' victory bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
