The Northeastern Knights posted their biggest victory yet this season on Saturday. They blew past Knightstown 71-40 on the road. Given Northeastern's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Knightstown is ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Landon Scarrette continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dae Lundy, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Knightstown still got an impressive performance from Michael Roberson, who scored 21 points. That was a full 52.5% of Knightstown's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brantt Ellis, who scored eight points.
The win makes it two in a row for Northeastern and bumps their season record up to 9-5. As for Knightstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.
Northeastern will be playing at home against Lapel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lapel focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday. As for Knightstown, they will head out on the road to challenge Winchester Community on Saturday.
