The Pen Argyl Green Knights can finally bid farewell to their 14-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 43-24 win over Palisades. Pen Argyl's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Pen Argyl to victory were Mason Soos and Chase Kennedy. Soos scored 12 points along with five steals, while Kennedy scored 15 points along with five assists and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Holland, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Pen Argyl's win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-10. As for Palisades, they bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pen Argyl will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Northwestern Lehigh at 6:45 p.m. on January 5th. Northwestern Lehigh presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pen Argyl in Pennsylvania (Northwestern Lehigh is ranked 290th, while Pen Argyl is ranked 669th). As for Palisades, they will head out on the road to face off against Catasauqua at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Catasauqua is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
