Basketball Recap: Make It 24 in a Row for Rangeview

It's playoff time, and Rangeview had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 62-25 victory over the Cherokee Trail Cougars. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Rangeview was led to victory by Kenny Black-Knox and Marceles Duncan. Black-Knox shot 58% from the field to rack up 18 points and eight rebounds, while Duncan posted 14 points along with five boards and four steals. That's the most points Black-Knox has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Archie Weatherspoon V, who put up ten points.

Rangeview was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cherokee Trail only six assists.

Despite the loss, Cherokee Trail still got an impressive performance from Vince Guthrie, who had six points and five rebounds. Guthrie is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 60% in the last three games he's played.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 24-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points over those games. As for Cherokee Trail, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

Rangeview will host George Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Rangeview's favor as the squad sits on 17 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while George Washington has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Cherokee Trail does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
