Hickory has gone a perfect 9-0 against Lakeland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Hawks will be playing at home against the Cavaliers at 5:45 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hickory 4.1, Lakeland 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Hickory is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Deep Creek get on the board and left with a 28-0 win on Thursday. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Ryan Kennedy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Bachman, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Matthew Kemick was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Hickory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .608. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Deep Creek only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Lakeland was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of Great Bridge by a score of 2-1. The Cavaliers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Hickory, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Everything went Hickory's way against Lakeland when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Hickory made off with a 9-1 victory. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
