First Colonial scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints by a score of 89-87. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Saints: they've now lost four in a row.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy was led to victory by Madden Gilliatt and Noah Cannon. Gilliatt dropped a double-double on 30 points and 18 boards, while Cannon shot 8-for-12 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Cannon is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. Michael Watson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

First Colonial's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
