The Meeker Cowboys will take on the Teton Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Meeker focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
After soaring to 42 points the game before, Meeker were a bit more limited in their game. They were the victim of a tough 30-6 loss at the hands of Gunnison. Meeker's defeat signaled the end of their 4-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Teton's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by Sugar-Salem 41-14. While losing is never fun, Teton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Sugar-Salem is ranked second).
Thomas Heuseveldt put forth a good effort for the losing side as he picked up 132 receiving yards, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
The losses dropped Meeker to 5-2 and Teton to 6-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Meeker has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 192.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Teton struggles in that department as they've been even better at 220.9 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
