The Bloomfield Bees lost to the Creighton Bulldogs back in February of 2023, but the Bloomfield Bees didn't allow the Creighton Bulldogs the same satisfaction on Saturday. Bloomfield walked away with a 57-47 win over Creighton. Given Bloomfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Creighton is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Layne Warrior, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wiley Ziegler, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Bloomfield's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Creighton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield and Hartington-Newcastle will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Hartington-Newcastle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. Creighton and Chambers/Wheeler Central will face off on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chambers/Wheeler Central is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
