The Atlantic Coast Stingrays will square off against the Wolfson Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Atlantic Coast is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
University Christian hit Atlantic Coast with a five-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Stingrays fell 8-4 to the Christians.
AJ Toledo was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wolfson). They blew past Englewood 17-1 on Thursday. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Ryan Rhoden and Noah Barnett did most of the damage at the plate: Rhoden went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Barnett got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Barnett has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Thomas Lynch, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Wolfson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Wolfson's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Atlantic Coast, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Atlantic Coast has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like Wolfson struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Atlantic Coast got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Wolfson by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Stingrays have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolfpack turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
