The Horizon Prep Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 47-25 defeat at the hands of Warner. Horizon Prep lost against Warner in their previous head to head on December 1st, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-30 score last time.
It was another big night for Angel Carachure , who scored 19 points along with eight steals for Warner. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for him. Omar Acosta was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Horizon Prep has fallen quite a ways from their 18-6 record last season and are now at 2-10. As for Warner, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon Prep will face off against Escondido Adventist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Warner's road trip will continue as they head out to face Ocean View Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
