The Libby Loggers can finally bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They escaped with a win against Polson by the margin of a single free throw, 42-41. The win was just what Libby needed coming off of a 69-22 loss in their prior matchup.
Polson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anthony Lichtenberg, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Cason Graham was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Polson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. This was only their ninth loss (out of 11 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Libby's victory bumped their record up to 2-13. As for Polson, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Libby will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Whitefish at 6:00 p.m. As for Polson, they will head out on the road to take on Columbia Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia Falls will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Polson surely won't give up without a fight.
