Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Warren Central's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

Warren Central never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Ridgeland Titans. Considering the Vikings have won six contests by more than ten runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Warren Central got a massive performance out of KeKe McKay, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave McKay a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Hern, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Warren Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgeland only posted an OBP of .308.

Warren Central has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Ridgeland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Coming up, Warren Central is taking a road trip to face off against Riverside at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ridgeland, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Neshoba Central at 6:30 p.m.
