Connyr Lewis and Josh Schulte provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Central Clinton. The longest such play in 3A District 6 this season, the connection resulted in 54 yards.
The Sabers were the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Central Clinton beat Anamosa 44-6 earlier in the week.
Anamosa's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Raiders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lewis has thrown for 1086 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Schulte has 43 catches for 522 yards. Dylon Kula leads the league in rushing with 188 yards.
A big matchup in 3A District 6 this week will be when Mike Miller's team takes on Marion. The Sabers are in third place, while the Indians are in first place.
Marion extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Clear Creek-Amana, 27-0. The win marks sixth in a row for the Tony Perkins' team.
