Even though the Beaver Bobcats scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Ambridge Bridgers still came out on top. Ambridge managed a 60-56 win over Beaver. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Ambridge.
Nick Krzeczowski and Brady Mayo certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Krzeczowski scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Mayo scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 44.6% of Beaver's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Ambridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season. As for Beaver, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Ambridge will be playing in front of their home fans against West Allegheny at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. West Allegheny presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ambridge in Pennsylvania (West Allegheny is ranked 190th, while Ambridge is ranked 470th). Beaver won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mohawk Area at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Mohawk Area will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
