There were no changes in the top six spots of the rankings, though previous No. 7 Dublin absorbed the biggest upset of NorCal teams when it fell to Foothill (Pleasanton) 58-48 in East Bay action. Kiran Kruse made two free throws with 1.2 seconds remaining to list No. 3 Bellarmine past No. 15 Saint Francis 58-56 to remain unbeaten in West Catholic Athletic League play, and the makes went beyond the final score. Kruse said he dedicated the shots to classmate Daniel Cole, who died in his sleep earlier in the week from causes still not known, according to Darren Sabedra's report in the San Jose Mercury News.
Logan Johnson and
Jacob Mihanovic each had 17 for Saint Francis.
- Previous No. 7 Dublin was stunned by Foothill (Pleasanton) 58-48 in East Bay play, which De La Salle took as good news. De La Salle owns a 51-45 victory over Dublin and is two games ahead of the Gaels in the league standings.
- Newly ranked No. 23 Menlo-Atherton beat previous No. 22 (and now No. 24) Sequoia 63-52 for first place in the Peninsula Athletic League South Division front-runners.
Eric Norton had 23 points for the winners.
- No. 5 St. Joseph could be playing its way into the NorCal Open Division if the Pilots so much as reach the finals of the North Coast Section Division IV field, and 69-year-old ageless wonder coach Don Lippi embraces the challenge. A winner of 823 games, Lippi has guided St. Joseph this season past ranked De La Salle (46-40) and St. Patrick-St. Vincent (71-69 and 69-49). Four-year starters

- Moreau Catholic jumped into the rankings at No. 15 after beating No. 16 Logan 69-56 in Mission Valley action.
Damari Milstead scored 32 points, including four 3-pointers, to go with four assists and four steals.
- No. 19 Heritage edged Liberty (Brentwood) 71-70 in Bay Valley Athletic League play after trailing by eight in the final quarter.
Tyriq Mack had a big block late and
Jonathon Ned made the game winner with 16.5 seconds to play.
- No. 22 St Mary's, the top-ranked team by the Stockton Record, beat West (Tracy) 68-66 for its 10th consecutive victory over that program.
Carson Simi had a runner to just beat the buzzer, and Simi followed up with a game-winning stop at Gregori (Modesto) for a 62-60 decision.
