After a string of four wins, the Faith Baptist School Falcons's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 34-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calvary Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Faith Baptist School has scored all season.
Brenna Binkley was Faith Baptist School's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Kiersten Yates HS held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Leading Calvary Christian Academy to victory were Sadie Fournier and Diaya Armantrading. Fournier scored ten points along with three steals and two blocks, while Armantrading scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Armantrading has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kate Malinky (HS), who scored five points along with five steals.
Faith Baptist School's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Calvary Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Faith Baptist School will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Greenwood Mennonite at 4:30 p.m. Calvary Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tri-State Christian at 4:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Tri-State Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 184th in Maryland, while Calvary Christian Academy is ranked 40th in Delaware).
