This season hasn't been kind to the Dickson County Cougars, who are still winless after their sixth game. They took a 60-43 bruising from Waverly Central on Monday. Dickson County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Waverly Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Keely Webb and Leelee Fernandez certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Webb scored 25 points along with four steals, while Fernandez scored 13 points along with five steals. Webb set a new season high mark in blocks with two. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynee Snow, who scored two points along with six rebounds.
Dickson County bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Waverly Central, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2.
Dickson County will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Fairview at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Fairview is ranked 309th, while Dickson County is ranked 322nd). As for Waverly Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McEwen at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
