Tennessee pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 80-60 defeat to David Crockett might stick with them for a while. Tennessee has not had much luck with David Crockett recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Tennessee saw an underclassman step up: Addie Wilhoit scored 25 points. Wilhoit has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last four times she's played. Anna kate Kinch was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, John Battle's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Central Wise at home and fell 67-30. While losing is never fun, John Battle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Central Wise is ranked 22nd).
Tennessee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for John Battle, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.
