1A-1 Region I District 2 recap Oct. 3, 2012
New Deal moved up to 755 from 865 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A-1 Region I District 2. The Lions were able to make the jump by beating Sudan 46-21.
Hale Center was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Owls defeated Bovina 34-14.
Tahoka's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tristan Hilger has thrown for 207 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Preston Hammonds has one catches for 87 yards. Ke'shawn Hood leads the league in rushing with 78 yards.
New Deal took down the Hornets 46-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
