6A District 11 recap October 22, 2013
Lake Gibson led 6A District 11 in scoring this week by notching 52 points on Lake Region. Trey Congdon threw for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 10 yards during the win.
The Thunder made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,155 from 7,325. The improvement was largely due to a 52-0 victory over Lake Region last week.
The Braves' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Chris Clarke chipped in 72 yards. Clarke helped Lake Gibson's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 30 yards.
Congdon put up the best numbers through the air as Lake Gibson bested Randy Howze's team. Congdon's favorite target this week was Jeremy Crissey, who caught 3 passes for 59 yards.
Keith DeMyer's team's Congdon and Crissey have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Congdon has thrown for 1,066 yards this season, while Crissey has 15 catches for 340 yards. Sebring's Tony Jenkins leads the league in rushing yards with 494.
The Braves had a great defensive game this week, leading the league in points allowed with 0.
