The Proctor Raiders posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 60-36 margin over Vernon-Verona-Sherrill. Given Proctor's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Vernon-Verona-Sherrill is ranked 585th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Atticus Roque and Degaragen Paradis certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Roque dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Paradis scored 11 points along with three steals.
Proctor is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Proctor will face off against Holland Patent at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Holland Patent's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, they will head out on the road to challenge Whitesboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
