Sealy is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Bellville Brahmas will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Sealy's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
If Bellville heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Sealy took over last week. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 42-21 margin over Needville last Friday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bluejays recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sealy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Romeo Castillo, who picked up 33 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 53 yards. Another receiver making a difference was AJ Cepon, who picked up 30 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Sealy's run defense was locked in: Needville could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Jadon Hernandez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sealy didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.6.

Sealy's defense didn't let Cameron Hall, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Isaiah Dukes-Self was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 16. Hernandez was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making 19 total tackles.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Bellville's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They took a 20-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbus. The game marked the Brahmas' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Sealy's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Bellville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Sealy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 254.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bellville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 173.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Sealy came up short against Bellville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 35-28. Thankfully for the Tigers, Dd Murray (who rushed for 115 yards, and also picked up 61 receiving yards and one score) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
