If the Redlands East Valley Wildcats were feeling good off their 71-33 takedown of the La Quinta Blackhawks last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Redlands East Valley was the victim of a rough 69-49 defeat at the hands of Los Osos on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Redlands East Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Los Osos is ranked 88th).
Despite the loss, Redlands East Valley had strong showings from Jeremiah Ivens, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, and Darrell Green, who scored 17 points along with four steals. The match was Ivens' 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dariel Bahamontes, who scored four points.
Redlands East Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Los Osos, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 8-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redlands East Valley will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Glendora at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. Glendora will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Los Osos, they will head out on the road to face off against Claremont at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Claremont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Monday.
