The Melbourne Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Calvary Chapel Academy 49-28. The win was just what Melbourne needed coming off of a 50-28 loss in their prior game.
Melbourne can attribute much of their success to Addyson Turba, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for Turba. Quinteria Coger was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals.
Melbourne's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Melbourne will take on West Shore at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (West Shore is ranked 490th, while Melbourne is ranked 477th). As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they will be playing at home against Master's Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Master's Academy is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
