The North Fork Miners proved they can win big  last Tuesday (they won by 24) but  on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a  33-30  victory over Gunnison. The  victory made it back-to-back wins for North Fork.
 North Fork's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Moss Inman, who  scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Henry Hollembeak, who  scored six points along with six  rebounds and two  steals.
 North Fork's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Gunnison, they are  on a four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-11.
 North Fork will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cowboys at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Gunnison, they won't have much time to rest: their next  contest is against the Cardinals at 2:00  p.m.  on February 3rd. Hopefully Grand Valley focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 25 last Tuesday.
