The Stilwell Indians gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Everything went their way against Roland as Stilwell made off with a 68-44 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-16.
Stilwell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Snowda Watie, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Prairie Holmes, who scored 15 points along with 5 steals.
Stilwell's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Roland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Stilwell will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Checotah at 6:00 p.m. As for Roland, they will head out on the road to face off against Sallisaw at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
