Basketball Recap: Victory Baptist Piles Up the Points Against Sugar Hill Christian Academy

Victory Baptist won the last time they faced Sugar Hill Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Victory Baptist Warrior blew past the Sugar Hill Christian Academy Stallions 71-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Warrior have posted against the Stallions since January 26, 2021.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victory Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eric Banks Jr, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 21 points. That's the most points Banks Jr has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Davis, who went 6 for 12 en route to 15 points and five boards.

Victory Baptist was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sugar Hill Christian Academy only racked up six assists.

When it comes to explaining why Sugar Hill Christian Academy lost, don't look at Tyler Veugeler. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Veugeler is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nolan Swift, who posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and five blocks.

Victory Baptist has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Sugar Hill Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-14.
