Football Recap: Allen Piles Up the Points Against Gore

Allen lost to Gore back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Mustangs blew past the Pirates, posting a 41-6 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 22 points or more this season.

Allen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quinton Box led the charge by rushing for 73 yards and one score on only seven carries, while also throwing for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven passes. What's more, Box racked up 118.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September. Noah Bray was another key rusher, rushing for 120 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Allen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 335 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 257 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.

Allen's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.7 points over those games. As for Gore, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Allen will host Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
