Ralynn Moody made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Aubrey Shehan was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Fort White hadn't done well against Keystone Heights recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Fort White walked away with a 5-1 victory over Keystone Heights.
Like Hamilton County, Fort White also got a great game from a two-way player: Kadence Compton. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Compton has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.
Compton wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Khloe Kirby, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Fort White lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Hamilton County's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Fort White, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
