Tri-County North is a perfect 7-0 against Twin Valley South since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Tri-County North will be playing at home against Twin Valley South at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers last Tuesday. Tri-County North sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Knox Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Tri-County North has posted since April 26, 2024.
Kasidi Daugherty was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Tri-County North got a big performance out of Bella Cherry, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. What's more, Cherry posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chloe Jackson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Tri-County North hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Twin Valley South hadn't done well against Franklin Monroe recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Jets. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.
Amelia Suggs was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Paityn Cross, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Tri-County North's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4. As for Twin Valley South, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Tri-County North beat Twin Valley South 7-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will Tri-County North repeat their success, or does Twin Valley South has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
