The Tecumseh Indians will challenge the Adrian Maples at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Tecumseh: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Adrian has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
On Saturday, Tecumseh came up short against Skyline and fell 7-2.
Tecumseh saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Palmer Ziemer, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Bryce Radant also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Adrian has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.83 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They put the hurt on Monroe with a sharp 17-10 win. The result was nothing new for the Maples, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Julius Robichaud was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Joelden Griffin was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Adam Parker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Adrian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Adrian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tecumseh, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tecumseh has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Adrian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
