The Grace Christian Academy Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Middle Tennessee Christian on the road and fell 58-31. Grace Christian Academy has struggled against the Cougars recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Middle Tennessee Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna clay Shirley out in front who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Smith, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Grace Christian Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Christian Academy will take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Columbia Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Thursday. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Battle Ground Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Cougars are ranked 121st).
