It was a good run, but the South Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a hard 60-43 fall against Eastmoor Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to South of the 48-36 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, South still got an impressive performance from Emani Tynes, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Tynes is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. J'Khyla Foster was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.
South's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Eastmoor Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Africentric Early College at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Africentric Early College is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. Eastmoor Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Walnut Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Walnut Ridge's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so Eastmoor Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
