Even though the Casady Cyclones scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, the Broken Bow Savages still came out on top. Broken Bow walked away with a 69-61 victory over Casady. Given Broken Bow's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Casady is ranked 474th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Casady lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bryson Buckingham, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Buckingham hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Payton Mitchell-johnson, who scored 14 points.
Broken Bow now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Casady, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Broken Bow will be playing at home against Poteau at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poteau is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Casady won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Washington at 4:25 p.m. on January 20th.
