The Williamstown Braves will be playing at home against the Penns Grove Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Williamstown is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Last Thursday, Williamstown was the victim of a rough 64-42 loss at the hands of the Lancers. While losing is never fun, Williamstown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while the Lancers are ranked 164th).
Meanwhile, Penns Grove lost to the Rams on the road by a decisive 53-37 margin on Thursday.
Penns Grove might have lost, but man, Giomar Conrad was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Willie Slocum, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Williamstown's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Penns Grove, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Things could have been worse for Williamstown, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-34 loss to the Red Devils when the teams last played back in January of 2020. Can Williamstown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
