The McDonald County Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Monett 66-45. McDonald County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.
McDonald County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamie Washam, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Washam scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Roslynn Huston, who scored 16 points.
McDonald County's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Monett, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Coincidentally, McDonald County and the Cubs will both be playing the Wildcats the next time they take the court. Monett will head out to face Cassville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while McDonald County will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
