 Meanwhile, La Porte fell victim to a  tough 10-4 loss at the hands of Goshen  in Saturday's  second game.
  Kai Jones was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits over four innings pitched. Jones was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Lake Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for La Porte, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 6-3.
