The MICDS Rams put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Mater Dei by a score of 60-49. Given MICDS's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 11th in Missouri, while Mater Dei is ranked 173rd in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Mater Dei still got an impressive performance from Garrick Winkeler, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Nolan Goebel, who scored four points along with two steals.
MICDS's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Mater Dei, their loss dropped their record down to 14-16.
MICDS does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Dei, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Granite City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
