Baseball Recap: Westside Extends Winning Streak to Four

Westside entered their tilt with Emerald on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 7-3. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2018.

Westside let Brody Caudle and Landon Geddings run wild. Caudle went 2-for-4 with one home run, while Geddings went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Geddings a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Holmes, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Westside hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.

Westside pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Emerald, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-12.

Westside will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
