On Friday, The Amador Valley Dons got themselves on the board against the Granada Matadors, but the Granada Matadors never followed suit. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 48-0 victory over the Matadors. The result was nothing new for Amador Valley, who have now won three matches by 35 points or more so far this season.
Amador Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tristan Tia, who threw for 223 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Tia is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Nate Jetter was another key contributor, picking up 148 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Amador Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. Even more impressive is the teams they beat to make that streak: Granada, Acalanes, and Campolindo. As for Granada, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amador Valley will challenge Dublin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dublin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Amador Valley is ranked 100th). Granada will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Livermore at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
