The Richwood Lumberjacks will head out on the road to challenge the Meadow Bridge Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Richwood is ranked 92nd, while Meadow Bridge is ranked 87th).
Richwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 79-42 loss at the hands of Pocahontas County. Richwood was down 59-34 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Meanwhile, Meadow Bridge waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 44-31 win over Sherman.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meadow Bridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Hayes, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Cooper, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Richwood's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Meadow Bridge, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 12-8.
Richwood lost to Meadow Bridge on the road by a decisive 46-28 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hayes, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
